Let’s face it the main reason us girls love going to the races is because it’s a great excuse to dress up and drink champagne. This season dress to impress with these race day dresses. Over coming weeks I’m going to be putting together various looks that will ensure you turn heads at the races.
On Ladies Day at the races, there are historically 3 competitions (and no I’m not talking about the horses). The competitions and prizes are for the most stylish race goers. Competition is pretty stiff with an array of fabulous hats, fascinators, and races dresses.
However for those that want to look amazing without breaking the bank my top tip is to head to the Gorgeous dress offers at Coast. It’s always my first port of call if i need something special, be it for the races or a wedding.
Here are a few looks that have been put together using Coast’s outfit building fitting room feature. It’s great fun you should try it. It really does allow you to play stylist for the day. Use the Fitting Room by Coast to choose garments and accessories and style them together to make outfits.
The first outfit we are going to look at belongs to the Monochrome Trend. Whenever i’m in doubt I always go for black and white. It’s a timeless look that always looks stylish and is guaranteed to get you noticed.
It doesn’t get more glamorous than black, white and polka dots.
This timeless dress made from Duchess Satin will become a wardrobe staple for years to come.
If your blessed with an hour glass body shape this dress will look divine on you. As we know you can be any size and still have a fabulous hour glass figure and to prove it this dress comes in sizes from 6 – 18.
Your never fully dressed for the races without head wear be it a hat or a fascinator. I love fascinators they always make me feel terribly Audrey Hepburn.
This Black New Rose Fascinator will look wonderful with the polka dot dress above or with any other monochrome dress you may own.
Set on a neat headband you won’t need to worry about it falling off all the time as your cheering on the horses. I always find fascinators set on a comb can be a bit of a pain for that very reason.
Priced at £40 this really is an investment. You will find many more opportunies to wear a black fascinator.
As far as i’m concerned clutch bags are the ultimate glamorous accessory. As soon as I get ready for going out I don’t feel completely pulled together until I have my clutch bag.
This spotty clutch bag will look amazing with any black outfit so I’m sure you’d find many uses for it afterwards.
The next outfit I’ve pulled together is all based around this stunning maxi dress.
These shades of tangerine and kiwi will certainly set you apart from the crowd.
Maxi dresses are perfect for covering up less that perfect pins.
Made from 100% silk it’s the ultimate luxury dress.
This dress will look amazing if you have a triangle body shape. For those that are narrower on the hips and waist.
The Camille maxi dress is available in sizes 6-16.
It’s part of the Coast Couture collection and is priced at £220
This dress looks pretty impressive on it’s own but I suggest you really add the wow factor by teaming it with the stunning accessories below.
Perfect for a glamorous summers day.
As the colour is pretty neutral again you can be sure you’ll be able to use it again and again.
Hey it’s so lovely i’d be tempted to even wear it for bbq just for an excuse to wear it again.
There is plenty of detail to this fascinator so you will look just as glamorous as those womens wearing full hats.
Price £ 40.
Team this whole outfit together with a chic gold clutch bag like the Gala Gold Clutch from Coast.
So there we have given you 2 totally different looks for a day at the races. Both of them equally stunning.
